How is winter maintenance of polycarbonate roofing done?

There's no need to go up on the roof to remove every little snowdrift. However, it is not possible to give a specific recommendation on the permissible thickness of the snow layer in centimetres, as snow can vary greatly in weight. If it is cold outside and light snow is falling, the amount of snow accumulating on the roof can be more than half a metre without causing any damage.

However, as the temperature approaches minus to plus, the snow becomes increasingly dense, heavy and wet, sticky and should not be allowed to accumulate more than 10 centimetres.

When snow comes down in heavy sleet, the roof will blister, and just one pile higher can prove fatal.

If possible, intervene at the stage when the snow is soft and light, as it is physically much harder to retrieve wet snow with melting snow afterwards. From the point of view of roofs, the most risky period is the end of winter, when there is still plenty of snow and sleet on the one hand, but the sun is melting and making the snow heavier every day.

The average bulk density of snow according to EVS-EN 1991-1-3:2006 is
Freshly fallen - 100 kg/m3
Standing (hours or days after falling) - 200 kg/m3
Old (standing for weeks or months) - 250-350 kg/m3
Wet snow - 400 kg/m3
Water - 1000 kg/m3

NOTE: Owners should be aware that removing snow from the roof is the responsibility of every owner. If this duty of care is not observed, the damage caused by the weight of the snow on the roof is not usually covered by insurance and is not covered by the warranty.

Transport and warranty conditions:

All products are covered by a 2-year material warranty, except for consumables such as brushes and vacuum cleaner, vacuum hoses and telescopic hose, which are covered by a 1-year warranty.

If the product has a material or manufacturing defect, it will be repaired or replaced.

The warranty does not cover the costs of replacing the defective product or other costs incurred as a result of the defective product.

Large pools are covered by a 10-year material guarantee, which only covers the steel construction of the pool.

Delivery time is usually about 10 working days after the order is placed.

Return and exchange conditions are as follows:

Returns can be made within 2 weeks of the delivery date and must be agreed in advance.

If you have ordered the wrong product, you will be responsible for the return costs.

If we have delivered the wrong product, we will refund the return costs and deliver a new product free of charge. No refunds will be made for refunds paid by instalment.

Exchanges are possible provided the product is unused and the original packaging is undamaged and usable.

The exchange will take place within 10 days of the purchase.

This text is a warranty document for pool components.

The warranty is valid for ten years from the date of purchase and covers the steel components of the pool, such as the pool structure - polyester coated steel sheet and the pool's galvanised edge profiles and support posts and their fasteners.

However, this guarantee does not cover accessories - filtration equipment, pool PVC liner, hoses, pumps or other accessories covered by the two-year guarantee.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or improper care, such as peeling, fading or cracking. The normal period of use for the pool is May to September. The guarantee does not cover corrosion damage caused by long-term leaks in the pool, external surface water in the pool or chlorinated water on the steel components of the pool.

The pool warranty is a material warranty, which means that the vendor provides a warranty on the product, but is not responsible for product replacement or labour costs. The seller is also not liable for any other costs or damages resulting from a broken product, such as the cost of filling or draining the pool with water.

The buyer must strictly follow the installation and maintenance instructions and failure to do so will invalidate the warranty. No modifications may be made to the construction of the pool.

The Seller shall not be liable in any way if the installer makes a mistake in his work, even if the installer is a person or company recommended by the Seller. Supervision of the installation and the quality of the work shall be the responsibility of the buyer.

All warranties apply to the original buyer only. The seller is not liable for structural damage caused by natural events such as storms, ice or freezing, or by improper installation or lack of electrical protection of the pool pump in the shield, for example. Once the area around the pool has been filled, the responsibility for the pool structure rests with the purchaser.

Damage to a component or accessory not supplied by the seller is not covered by the warranty. If the contents of the pool are damaged, the seller will provide repair materials during the warranty period if the damage is reasonably repairable. The warranty does not cover damage caused by the cost of finding the leak.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper maintenance.

The Seller shall not be liable for any consequences resulting from the incorrect use or installation of the Products, including the use and/or installation of the Products in places and/or in a manner not intended for such use and/or installation and the consequences of incorrect maintenance of the Products.

This is a common limitation of liability used by many companies. It means that if a customer uses or installs a product incorrectly, or maintains it incorrectly, and this causes damage, the customer is liable, not the seller. This protects the seller from liability arising from the consumer's own negligence or ignorance. However, this does not mean that the seller is not liable if the product is defective or does not comply with the terms of the sales contract.
